Topic: How can I delete some of my uploads?

Posted under General

So, I've uploaded segments of a comic I'm commissioning and it's currently undergoing lots of edits and revisions. It will probably be complete in like 3-5 weeks where I'll just upload it in its entirety.

But for right now, I'd like to just delete the segments I did post so that I don't have to constantly keep uploading new versions and flagging the old ones for deletion.

Is there any way I can do this? I do think it's strange this site won't let you just remove your own uploads so mishaps like this don't occur. The only way I can see to delete posts is if they violate some site-wide rule, in which case they can't be re-uploaded again.

You'll have to flag it for takedown. Afaik there is no other way to delete a post.

Is there any way a moderator can delete them with no penalty? Because I'd like to upload this comic when it's finished

Why don't you just leave it until the comic is finished, then replace the old images as needed? You can ask a staff member for image replacement permissions

Ok, I'll try asking a mod directly

We don't allow uploaders to delete their own posts because this isn't a gallery site, it's an archive
the majority of uploads were made by randoms, not anyone that has a say in the piece

Replacements may still count against you depending on who approves them, FYI
You also shouldn't replace the same image multiple times, just wait until everything is done then do whatever needs to be done

When flagging posts as superior/inferior, what counts as the image being different enough to not count against me?

Sorry for the dumb questions. I love e621 and I'm just trying not to get banned or anything. I do have revised images (there was a mistake in the character color design that the artist fixed). If it's not possible to delete without penalty then maybe I could just upload those, and upload the rest when it's 100% finished.

Deletions will always count against you
Replacements will count against you unless the janitor is nice enough to toggle the penalty

By default, replacing your own post does not count against you.

O'rly?

I thought it still reduced your upload limit. Not that the UL limit normally matters if you have an active account.
