While I was thinking about a final boss I wondered if e6 had a spoiler tag, and... of course it does. I tried to change it to a Lore tag but it's locked, so I suppose it would be good to discuss about it.

I don't really think spoiler should be a tag, since it's subjective. What someone considers pre-release marketing material, another may consider a spoiler (to the point where it's become a common complaint for official pre-release trailers to spoil a movie or game). Different people have different lengths of time for when something is no longer considered a spoiler. Some people may consider something to become a spoiler again if there's a remake, and other people may not. There are also spoilers like this.

I see, it just feels odd to me for something like that to be a regular tag. I'm not fully sure what the point of the Lore type is, but if it encompasses characters' gender and familial relations then I feel like a character or action referencing a spoiler in related media fits on the same coin.

spoiler_(car) is a separate tag for that reason. I sort of agree with not wanting the tag to be there at all due to the lack of clear ruling to what it can apply to, I suppose this post is bringing a bit of attention to the tag's mere existence too...

I'd more like spoiler as a meta tag imo.

I just want it to be a tag implemented in a standard way. Lore, meta, whatever, it just needs to exist.

There's some things I don't want to upload specifically because they're too spoilery, and I don't want to potentially ruin something I enjoy for everyone else.

And the entire purpose of tags is to allow blacklisting, right? Well, spoilers are something people would absolutely want to blacklist.

Tag type doesn't change the name of it or what you can do with it, it's purely for visual/organisation on the left side bar where all the image's tags are displayed. This does not affect your needs for a spoiler tag. :)
