The tag alias #65762 mask_transformation -> transformative_mask is pending approval.
Reason: These are so close to the same thing that I think it’s pointless to have them separate.

I think the inverse is probably better. the transformation caused by the mask would be, like, "more TWYS" than a mask that could cause transformation.

Mask transformation sounds more like the character is transforming INTO a mask rather than BY a mask

I actually reported you instead of replied AAHAHAHAHAGAGAG I feel so stupid.
What I meant to say was there are other comments like transformative_collar, this is supposed to be in the theme of that.
(Admins please don’t ban me for this stupid mistake)

kinda? transformation_by_mask, then? we already have the more general transformation_by_item and several other tags that use the transformation_by_* format
honestly, we probably should move away from the *_transformation format in general due to its occasional ambiguity. and instead use the more specific transformation_by_<thing>, transformation_into_<form/thing>, and transformation_through_<action>

I agree, tags like clothing transformation are a bit ambiguous: a character transforming into clothing, transformed by clothing, or clothes transforming (e.g. the clothes they're wearing, or the clothes in their wardrobe) along with their body? Until you check the wiki or what's already been tagged with them, you don't know that it's meant to be the first one.
My preferred tag format for these would be transformation_into_clothing, transformation_by_clothing and transformation_of_clothing respectively. (I see that someone has added the last one to a single image recently.)
So in this case, the tag that fits this format would be transformation_by_mask (and it would imply transformation_by_clothing and transformation_by_item.)
(Although shouldn't transformation_by_item really be transformation_by_object, to match existing tags like holding object, object in mouth etc?)
