Hello, I've been using e621 for a bit and recently started posting art (made either by me or someone else) of my OC named Lynx, I've been tagging every post featuring Lynx as Lynx_(Lynx_Scenting) in the appropriate "Character Name" section when uploading the post, but it doesn't show up as a proper character tag, rather, as one of the many other tags used to describe the content of the work. I'm not quite sure how to fix this, if anyone could help me with this issue it'd be much appreciated, I thank you in advance!

Click the question mark beside the tag -> Edit tag type -> character

You can also place something like character:character_name when creating a post and it'll automatically create a character tag.
Also while it isn't obligated, I highly recommend adding the nick of whoever created the character after the character name itself, for example, character:somecommonname_(someone).
PS: it needs to be a new tag for it to work.

https://e621.net/wiki_pages/51699 You can also add related characters from say, a comic, like this, on the Wiki. So if the characters were specific to one of your stories, you could also use Lynx_(ComicNameHere). It makes it a LOT easier to tag comics when you have dozens of characters, to add some descriptions and examples. ;)
