those letters are for post relationship and approval status
P = has a parent (an original post that has edits and/or other posts that are directly related to it)
C = has a child (edit on an original post or direct followup)
U = unapproved (post that is pending approval)
F = flagged (marked by a user for one reason or another and is awaiting evaluation)

It should be noted that P/C means the post HAS a parent/child post, not that it IS the parent/child post. So a child post is labeled "P" and a parent post is labeled "C".
