Topic: Can we have an easier way to identify artists on the Avoid Posting list?

Posted under Site Bug Reports & Feature Requests

I know this was partly my mistake, but after checking the list I not only noticed that the artist that was tagged avoid posting was not only not mentioned on the list (unless I’m just blind), but the whole thing felt it was a little tedious. I want to suggest easier ways to tell if something is avoid posting? I’m not sure how it would work but I think it’s needed.

they are listed on the avoid_posting wiki page, albeit as pricklypudding first instead of pinklilim. that should probably be swapped around...

Ahh, yeah I didn’t recognize that username. I still feel it would help to make it easier to tell.

If you're able to install it, the RE621 userscript will show a preview of the post's tags including displaying which artist tags you're using are DNP.

Although technically, while the rule isn't enforced as far as I know, you're supposed to be asking the artist for permission to post here. It would be near impossible to make a mistake of accidentally uploading a DNP artist if you asked first, excepting cases where the artist gave permission without remembering they're DNP.

If there's a lot of posts already you could probably assume they're fine with having their content reposted (though they might be conditional_dnp which would still have to be checked first) but if you search their name and there's no results, like with pinklilim, it should be a red flag that they're either DNP or you should really be asking them if they want their art here in the first place.

I don’t think I can install that because I’m pretty much never on PC. I typically use tablets. Computer chairs and keyboards are uncomfortable. Only way I know how to check is by searching >artistname:status:deleted and by viewing the list.

i use pc i just use the search function in firefox via edit find in page. im sure theres a similar function on chrome/firefox on your phone or whatever browser you use. yeah theres alot of DNP artist for here. but you gotta always check. its a pain in the arse but its better than having your arse handed to you i always say lol. good luck!

Come to think of it, when I add an artist tag to an upload, wouldn't 'related tags' show stuff like conditional do-not-post. 0 uploads by a popular artist would be good clue as well, but if an artist is on "only artist can upload"... Right, that should show cdnp as well. But yeah, searching that Avoid Posting link is method I have been using. Rarely need it, as I'm often uploading the same artists' work again and I should notice if they nuke it all when doing a search to make sure it wasn't already uploaded. Or you know, I asked them permission first, or they asked me to do the upload in the first place. ;)
