Topic: Tag alias: snake_impalement -> threaded_by_body

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The tag alias #64120 snake_impalement -> threaded_by_body is pending approval.

Reason: snake impalement as a bit of a misnomer, as threading / all the way through and impalement are different, though similar things (the impalement wiki page has a 'not to be confused with' for snake impalement). This isn't really any different from threaded by body, and if someone specifically wants a snake doing the threading they can simply use 'threaded_by_body snake'. There are only a few snake impalement posts that aren't tagged with threaded by body, and those are tagged with threaded by tail (the line between tail and body in a snake is rather nebulous).

EDIT: I see that a transitive is making it so that threaded by body would imply snake, do I need to redo this as a BUR?

Updated

The transitive is fine, since that's from a pending implication that shouldn't be approved: topic #39177 (snake_impalement isn't just for snakes, the threaded_by_body wiki is incorrect in that respect).
The only potential issue I see is that snake_impalement is specifically for mouth and anus, while threaded_by_body can be any two holes. An implication might be better, if we're keeping it instead, but it would still need a rename. That said, I think very little value would be lost, given the oddities of that tag family.

Bringing this back, the problem SCTH brought up isn't really relevant, you could just search threaded_by_body ~oral_threading ~anal_threading.

Here's what a wrote up when I was trying to do this alias again before realizing this one was still active :P

These are synonyms.

snake_impalement: A specific variant of full tour where the "prey" can be seen coming out of both ends (i.e: both the mouth and anus) of the "predator" simultaneously. Since the digestive system is generally assumed to be fairly lengthy and tortuous, most examples of this tend to involve snakes, though that is not a requirement.

threaded_by_body: When a character is being penetrated all the way through by another character's body. For the common case where the penetrating character is a snake, see snake_impalement.

The snake_impalement wiki doesn't even agree with the more specific use the threaded_by_body one gives it (and there are several posts tagged snake_impalement that do not involve a snake. Even if the distinction did exist it wouldn't be very useful anyway, as one can just search threaded_by_body snake if that's what they want to see.
