Topic: [FEATURE] Picture renewal

Tell me if you think of a better name for this lol. anyways, We have all black listed tags before and this feature is great, but what happens when you blacklist so many tags? Half the screen gets taken away. What if there was a way to have 250 (according to Versperus) on every screen without the Blacklist taking them? So instead of 150 (normal), 100 (blacklisted), then next page. Why not void out the blacklist and add the Pictures from the next page onto the page you’re on. I think this would save time for every lazy person out there. Tell me your thoughts on this and if it’s already a thing or not, perhaps a mode to change it? Thanks for listening :)

Providing 250 results every time would become more and more taxing on the server as people add more tags to their blacklist, it would also require the blacklisting to be serverside where it's currently done on the client.

If you set your post limit to 320, even if half the posts are blacklisted, you'll see 150 results.

Why is that? To my calculations, this is only a variation on what RE621 already does client-side.

So it cannot be done because the server would run too slow? Surly there must be a work-around to it

I get what you're asking: Why are blacklisted tags not just removed from the search entirely, same as if you'd put "-tag_i_dont_want" into the search bar? And the reason is that blacklisted tags (for logged-in users, at least) can be clicked on in the sidebar to unhide them if, for some reason, they want to. It's useful for me when I'm going through doing tag edits, because while I have types of posts I'm not normally looking for, they still need to be tagged properly.

At least it doesn't force you to see "hidden" or "deleted" thumbnails for link after link. A client can do infinite scroll and then this is irrelevant, I guess.
