Topic: How prominent should claws (and other things ig lol) be before tagging them?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

I'm a pawfur and I like claws, specially toeclaws, so I've been adding the relevant tags to pictures because it's shocking how many don't have claw tags when claws ARE in the picture. I'm just wondering if I should be tagging claws only if they are *prominent*/focused-on in the picture, or if I should keep my current paradigm of tagging them if they are in the picture at all.

This could be extended to other things as well--as far as I can tell, e621 runs off the "if it's visible at all tag it no matter how small" rule, but then again, people seem to constantly not tag claws...or is it just that I'm a deranged paw-pervert that notices them when most don't look that hard LOL

If something's in the image, you can add the tag. Most people just don't bother tagging things like that.

Most tags should be used when the thing is in the picture at all. Some tags have other requirements (like you don't tag no_underwear or barefoot for a nude character despite technically having no underwear or footwear, it should only be when a character is expected to have underwear or footwear but doesn't; or how male_focus shouldn't be tagged for a post that has only male characters, or solo_focus for an image that's solo), but generally if you see something no matter how small, it's taggable.
