Topic: Q: how to embed links in text properly (am on mobile)

Posted under e621 Tools and Applications

Sorry I'm not really a tech savvy person, but I was wondering how you imbed links into text on a post. Something along the lines of (check this totally not sus link) type of deal. For context I use mobile some things might not be the same, or something. I kept on searching though the wiki to see if anyone has explained it in a major text post or something but I haven't found it, so I'm making this for anyone who is lost.

I've tried searching on different sites for like HTML to see if anything would work. And the only thing that seems like it would work doesn't, but that's may be just on my part, or just doesn't use HTML.

check out the DText formatting guide, it's got everything you could possibly want to know.

also if you're on Android, consider changing your keyboard layout from English QWERTY to English PC so that you can type the grave accent, backslash, vertical bar, and several other useful characters without going three deep into submenus. this also might be an option on iOS, I have no idea. iPhones are for nerds.

as Cloudpie stated. "the best website":https://e621.net will result in the best website, and the site's smart enough to usually determine was is and is not part of the link. the second best website. has a period at the end, even though URLs can contain periods this one won't be detected as part of the URL, so it puts a regular period after the embedded link. lastly, if you're using e6 links you can omit some of the URL: here's the posts page":/posts will show up as here's the posts page; the site recognizes that you omitted https://e621.net and assumes you are trying to link to an e6 page. i don't know how this would function for e926, though...
