Topic: Character or Species tag?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

I created a character/species and so far I’ve been tagging them as species “slug” with no character tag.
They now have a name, lore and appear in multiple posts so I wanted to give them their own tag.

I’m not familiar with the rules of species tags so I wanted to ask if I should give them a species or a character tag. (or both?)

Well, that depends on whether this "character" is just an example of the original species or is a unique entity by itself.

If it is just a generic example for the species, then just add in the species tag. In this case, adding species:bert_(mmhorrors) into the tags would suffice.
If it is a named character for the species, then add both the species and character tag. In this case, add species:bert_(mmhorrors) character:insert_name_here.
Make sure that any new tags you are creating does not conflict with any existing tags with the same name. If they do, just add in a suffix with your name at the back (as shown above).
