When it comes to posting commisions, for the characters name should the artist name follow it or the original owner of the characters name follow it?

if it's an unoriginal name, like Alex or "Button", add the character owner's name as a suffix such as Alex_(siral_exan). if it's a completely original name or is a full name, like "Mankrik" or "Lanett Shadetome", then don't add any suffix.
Ideally, you should try to see if the character has a unique name – most commonly, firstname_lastname.
Failing that, the name should be suffixed with the name of the character owner: name_(owner)
Adding an artist's name to the character they do not own would be really strange.
Please, do not do that.

We'd put the character owner's name in the parentheses regardless of who drew the picture, unless the name is sufficiently distinct enough to not need one (ie. cynthia_(cybercorn_entropic) vs. cynthia_boggs).
