Yup. They will follow the chain until they hit an alias (at which point ghost tags start popping up, which fortunately doesn't happen very often).

The reason why we have two tags for those in the first place is because they look completely different. So users can search for (or blacklist) just one of them, instead of having both lumped under the same tag.

I'm not arguing for or against the implication, but this is a pretty simple problem:

• Just link_(wolf_form)
• link_(wolf_form)
• blacklist: link -link_(wolf_form)
• Just link
• link -link_(wolf_form)
• blacklist: link_(wolf_form)

Which would probably need to be done anyways since link_(wolf_form) posts will undoubtedly get the link tag on posts from time to time (and will need regular cleanups).

There seems to be not rules how it's supposed to be done. Some mlp tags are implicated like this (but to be honest they are not really valid), other tags like lion_sora aren't.

That still makes it impossible to find images that feature both.

Granted, I'm not sure how often anyone would actually search for those. But I'm still not keen on making any changes that make images harder to find.

As for cleanup, those rarely need any. The last time I checked link link_(wolf_form) was around a year ago, and there's only a couple of posts that need fixing. Though I suppose someone else might've cleaned it recently.

Selfcest would probably be the answer here if it were tagged more often.

Anyways, lion_sora sora_(kingdom_hearts) pulls up 12/15 results, showing that people will probably end up tagging it with the character name anyways.

After a full year, is this going to be officially denied/approved?
