I would like to replace one image with a new version.

Old was done with haste and had some major flaws. I tried to correct them with newest version.
But I do not know how I can replace them.
Both version are know publish, I just would like to swap them.

I think the procedure is to "Flag" the worse post for deletion. On the form, there is a place to input the "better" post. I do not know if this will update the existing children or affect your upload limit.

So:
post #3772419 > Flag (on the left column, below "Options") > select "Duplicate or Inferior..." > paste 3818864 in the input labeled "Inferior of Post #" > Submit
