Topic: Tag Implication: starry_sky -> star

Implicating starry_sky → star

Reason:

If we're going to keep this tag, might as well implicate it.
Also starry_sky → sky.

Edit: I didn't notice that star and stars are separate. Maybe those should probably be aliased first.

I'd say that one tends to mean the pointy shape and the other the balls of plasma in the sky, but they tend to get mixed up anyway. I don't know whether they should be differentiated since it seems like kind of a pain to keep them separated, but having one mixed tag is better than 2, I definitely agree with that.

Off-topic: I recently found spacescape as well, but I wish I would have started with starscape now that I realize it that scans significantly more.

Ok, implication of starry_sky to --> star is approved.

Alias of stars to --> star is also approved since both are used for both kinds for ages now. It's better to use other tags to differentiate the different kinds, like starry_sky for when stars are up in the air as in nature's type of star.

And what about starry_sky → sky? I can't think of any instances where that wouldn't apply.

I didn't do that one, because stars in the sky can be seen even if you're not anywhere near the surface of the planet. And we've got images where someone is up in the air and there's stars in the air behind them (so it is the right type of stars), but you have no idea how far out they are and if would still be what we use the sky tag for. We've also got images where they-might-be-in-a-spaceship but all you know for sure is that you can see stars in the sky out of that window. If it's a house, we'd call that visible sky. But if it's actually in outer_space, do we still call that visible sky or does the sky tag stop being applicable on its own?

The line between when sky stops and it becomes outer_space is a little blurry. So I didn't implicate starry_sky to --> sky automatically since the use seemed like it might not always be the same. It just needs discussed first, I think.

Wouldn't that be spacescape and space instead of sky? If it can't be identified as a sky, I don't see how it can be tagged as starry_sky either..

I have no idea what you mean that it scans, but starscape sounds so much cooler.
