Topic: Pee vs Urine vs Piss?

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

We are very inconsistent with our naming convention when it comes to watersports related tags. According to the urine & peeing wikis, urine seems to be the preferred term for the substance itself, along with related location tags (such as urine_in_mouth); with peeing being used for the activity instead of urination (such as peeing_on_partner).

Tags using piss have all been aliased away to urine and pee equivalents except for death_piss, which still seems to use it.

So I guess the point of this forum post was to ask, is there an actual reason for the divide in substance/location tags and the activity tag? Or should we change all the peeing_* tags to urinating_* along with peeing itself?

There were talks of peeing being aliased to urinating a while back but it ended up getting reversed because of the amount of effort involved in moving the tags over. I think it would've technically took over 100 BURs to get it done.

Ah, fair enough I guess. I must have missed that thread when I was searching for urine discussions lol

topic #28231 and topic #28493 are the relevant threads. Nothing got done and everything got rejected for no good reason, presumably the admins not wanting to think about piss and shit too deeply.

Yeah, I saw topic #28493, just figured lots of other big changes have happened since it was discussed 2+ years ago. I didn't see the 100 BUR topic faucet mentioned, but I believe it. Lots of implications and aliases to be redone if there was a change.

Seriously though, here recently we've had the massive video_games tag being fixed, we had species tags simplified, and years ago there was the whole gender tag situation that was fixed. Huge tag projects aren't off the table, and I don't think this tag situation is much different other than the fact it's more niche than the others tbh.
