Uplift conspiracy...? You're not referencing Human Instrumentality, are you?
But seriously, I don't think we'll be seeing anthros in our lifetimes.

why the hell would you want that
Besides, Human Instrumentality both sounds and is more epic than that.

If you believe it will take centuries to create anthros, explore space, etc. then biological immortality could allow you to see it happen.

But what happens when your mind's perception of time is so deteriorated that a person's life goes by in a second or two from your perspective? One can't enjoy anthros or space travel like that. :I

It's up to you to enjoy your life and preserve your mental well being. Ask some centenarians if they feel like kicking the can, you will get a mix of answers, maybe more positive than negative.

But seriously.
The perception of time speeds up as you live for longer, regardless of whatever training or shit you might do, an hour still passes in a shorter and shorter amount of time.
You know, when one was a child, summer seems to last forever. That concept.

Biological immortality: it looks like you're stuck in a 30 year old body forever, not an 80 year old body.

Huh, ok. So maybe we will get to see anthros/proper spaceflight/anthros flying spaceships.

You can hold your breath in space though, if you inhale before you enter vacuum. But apparently it's actually worse to have air in your lungs as you enter vacuum than not to.

That's somebody else's problem.

Basically, Lance is talking about biological immortality and how there's a conspiracy about making anthros that's somehow tied to this.
So, essentially, Human Instrumentality.

After about ten minutes of reading on the subject, it seems like complete sci-fi mumbo-jumbo nonsense, but eh - Who knows.

Yes because then there's more pressure in your lungs than outside thus they might explode or expand too far.

Thanks.
Remember this, people, in case you ever find yourself exposed to the vacuum of space. It might save your life (for some seconds)!

Well ya gotta admit, it's far more likely to be relevant safety info now than it was a few decades ago

We're all gonna be long gone before joes like me can get into space, though.
Maybe I'll settle for a vomit comet ride.
