Topic: Tag Implication: source_filmmaker -> digital_media_(artwork)

I think the concept here is good, but I think source_filmmaker would be better off implicated to --> 3d since that's more directly what it is.

The microsoft paint brings up a tricky mess actually:

The first point is that we've mostly resisted tagging things by the program they were made in except in notable cases like source_filmmaker (which I've been told is important for blacklists). So things like Photoshop and sites like Deviantart aren't supposed to be tagged just because an image came from there, because that's not all that useful for searches. People can search by source for places like FA and DA. And being made in photoshop isn't distinct from things made in Sai or Paintshop Pro, etc so they're all tagged with digital_media_(artwork) instead. And the photo_manipulation, shopped, and photomorph tags all are separately tagged as well. Which is more TWYS by keeping the focus more on tagging the traits of the image instead it's backstory. So this means tags like like adobe_photoshop and deviantart are only kept for when it's a screenshot of the interface or their site mascot.

So I wonder if ms_paint should really be the tag for it. Which leads into the next related point:

I've noticed a number of different attempts to tag artwork where pixels are part of the style so it could use a little organization anyways. The images seem to fall into two main subtypes though: actual pixel art like sprites or nintendo NES, vs bitmap-like art like oekaki and ms_paint (or whatever we rename it to). We could tag the first group as sprite/sprites and then implicate that to pixel_(artwork). And then have all the bitmap style images like those made in oekaki and ms_paint combined into one single tag, like pixel_(artwork) unless we can think of something better. Or maybe there's a different way to solve this.

Oh, there's also when pixelation is used for censorship, but that's not really that closely related. But it will probably be mixed into several of these tags when it comes time for cleanup.

In any case, I'm not making any official decision on it yet. Just bringing up points that I think need factored in and discussing because they're very relevant.
