I think for all instances where hands are depicted on a picture, its too obvious to be a useful tag, as you've cited there are more specific counterparts. +1

Just like "hands", "feet" etc we don't need to tag that it exists, just important traits about it. And between the other tags like human_hands, # of fingers, and disembodied_hand all the important traits seem to be covered in better ways. Therefore, alias to invalidate it is approved.
