Topic: [APPROVED] Recursive Vore Minor BUR

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The bulk update request #2964 is active.

create alias voreception (0) -> recursive_vore (247)
create implication recursive_vore (247) -> vore (67143)

Reason: "Voreception" is a (dated) meme name for a "character who ate another character eaten by another character"... which would more technically be called recursive vore. "recursion" and recursive are used for other tags (recursive penetration)

EDIT: The bulk update request #2964 (forum #341174) has been approved by @slyroon.

That just sounds like ouroboros but with extra steps.

An ouroboros is a snake eating/biting its own tail, auto vore is closer visually to an ouroboros. Recursive vore means a character eating another character who in turn is eating, or has eaten a third character, and so on.

Yeah, speaking as someone who has tagged voreception a number of time, I'd much prefer having a proper name for it than resort to keep using a 2010-era meme-name.

Definitely a thumbs up from me.

EDIT: I was going to mention turducken, but looks like it's been cleared recently, and turducken position instead aliases to in utero penetration.

My thoughts exactly, a tag named after a meme nobody uses anymore that references an already TWELVE year old movie isn't future proofing the tag. The meme based tag is probably why there were only 105 "voreception" posts out of 41,000 vore posts... not that it's a common theme to begin with, but there are probably more posts than that.

I cleared it because there were maybe around a dozen or so posts under it, and most of the posts were tagged 5-10+ years ago, meaning it's clearly not an intuitive tag name. Especially since the tag is just the name of the dish and not something like "turducken vore", which still assumes that someone will see a character eating a character eating a character and try and tag an obscure novelty food. However, aliasing it to recursive vore also seemed inappropriate, on the off chance that someone uploads a post that has an actual turducken in it.
