Topic: Upload limit question

Posted under Off Topic

So I uploaded 10 images yesterday. Today I went to upload another one. But it says I've reached my upload limit. At what time will I be able to upload again? Do I have to wait a day or more? Hoy many days exactly?

It's based on posts that are pending, so you'll have to wait for the posts to be approved before you can post more.

As a sidenote I would not recommend uploading your own art to E621; it's not a personal gallery. Most artists who post do so because they are recognized and post high quality art. Especially so since unapproved/deleted posts count against your upload limit.

The "Upload Limit" field on each account's profile will provide a full breakdown of what's affecting their upload limit. Here's yours: 10 + (0 / 10) - (0 / 4) - 10 = 0

The first 10 here is your base upload limit. All accounts start with 10. Staff might arbitrarily reduce your base upload limit if you're naughty, or they might raise it if an artist orders a takedown of several hundred approved posts.
The first 0 here is your amount of approved posts. Every 10th approval permanently increases your upload limit by 1.
The second 0 here is your amount of deleted posts. Every 4th deletion permanently reduces your upload limit by 1.

The second 10 is the number of pending/flagged posts you have. Anything that hasn't specifically been approved, and anything that's been flagged for deletion after approval, counts as -1 against your upload limit.
Approvers appear to go down the list of pending posts in a semi-random fashion, so just wait a day or two for them to get to yours.
There is an edge-case where your posts might be deleted if they go unapproved for 30 days. Usually, this means that nobody liked the upload enough to approve it, and nobody hated it enough to instantly delete it.
