Topic: open-back -> backless, aliases and implies BUR

The bulk update request #2859 is pending approval.

Reason: "backless" is used for 14 tags while "open-back" is only used for 6 tags as of now. "Backless" seems to be the preferred term: Wikipedia

However, there is the tag open-butt_dress which is also a dress with an opening on the back. But this is specifically referring to when the butt cheeks are visible while wearing the dress as intended. While I do like changing "open-back" to "backless", it does lose the symmetry with "open-butt", and a term like "buttless dress" isn't really established either.

And there could also be a tag for "open-butt_swimsuit" with posts like post #2848355 and post #899794. As of now, that tag doesn't exist.

It's hard to say what to do with open-butt_dress, it's not really "open butt", which would imply that the buttocks are completely exposed while still acting as a full dress, and that would probably fall under butt cutout. The majority of these "open-butt dresses" are just backless dresses with a very low cut, exposing the top of the cheeks - "butt cleavage"...

The second image you posted would be an example of a "butt cutout".

You make good points. The tag could have a completely different name. One idea is just taking some of those dresses and tag them with "butt cutout dress" and the rest being just "backless dress" + "butt cleavage". Would be a shame to not have the tag though. There is "exposed back dress", so a second idea is "exposed butt dress" instead.

I think the design of those dresses is distinct enough from backless dresses that they should not be conflated with one another. Also, there are a significant number of dresses in that tag that DO feature butt cutouts, particularly the more recent uploads under the tag. Neither style of dress is a significant instance of meme clothing, and absent specific names for either it feels appropriate to keep the open-butt_dress tag as a catch-all for now.
