Topic: I Need Help Getting Source Filmmaker To Run Faster That Snail Stuck In Glue, Dood

Posted under Off Topic

Have no clue what happened, Not too long ago it was working like a charm!
post #3123944|post #2822007|post #3144606

Then suddenly it's taking 10-15 minutes for the Project window to open and
an additional 4-5 for it to pick up that my mouse is on it. Gets worst if I try
to type in the project name, Another 10 minutes right there, Dood

My other programs: Blender, Skyrim, Guilty Gear Strive, Adobe Premiere & Encoder and other PC pushing pieces
load in a flash with Zero Lag. (Well except for Wallpaper engine but that might be another beast altogether, Dood)

Tried:

validating

Clearing out and validating my usermods

run SDK first (Won't open altogether)

running as an administrator (Stops it from booting altogether)

Updating my Graphics card

Setting SFM to a higher priority

Reinstalling

And resetting my PC

Open to suggestions and would really appreciate the help
on how to fix this so I can start messing around with Worgens again, Dood

Finally Found a Fix! Maybe not thee fix but a fix, Dood! ╹‿╹)

SFM.exe > Propertiese > Compadibility > Compadibility Mode> Windows XP (Service Pack 3 or 2)

Fixed my problem with the Wallpaper engine too and I have skullgirls to thank.
Tried running that game and had the same issue but, with how fast it opened
it made the perfect test subject for all the solutions I could think of, Dood.
(In other news my PC is running faster than ever due to the solutions I've tried)

It's not perfect since having a windows XP app open on Windows 10 puts the taskbar behind your windows
(Not me but a peep with the same issue)
but I can work with this for the time being till I find a solution for that too, Dood!

Please don't lock this thread just yet, Wanna update it again once I have everything all figured out!
and find the fact that if someone's having similar issues, them finding the answer here would be Hilarious, Dood

Maybe an update broke the program.

An update to windows, steam or Sfm?
More inclined to believe the first two but,
would love to hear where your head is at, Dood

Sfm, of course. Windows is also a possibility, but I've never heard of a Steam update breaking a program.

That's definitely worth looking into and trying! Maybe the latest has some
type of compatibility issue with the latest version of windows, or vice versa,
Dood!

Just wonder if that means Wallpaper engine and Skullgirls have the same
compatibility problem, If that's the case I guess I'm outta luck since those
get updated on a semi-daily base, Dood =P

(Wierd part that it's not all new games not working
since Guilty Gear Stive works just fine, Dood)

According to steamdb.info, the last build was released on January 12th of 2015.

Okay, maybe not SFM then.

Windows probably broke something.
