Unfinished and work_in_progress should probably be aliased. I had to create this thread manually because there's already aliases incomplete -> unfinished and WIP -> work_in_progress.

I assume that WIP implies an artists is intending to come back and finish something, instead of it being left forever incomplete. But not only is that unseeable and untaggable, artists intentions to finish stuff are often not followed through.

Unless there's some other nuanced difference between the two, I think I'm for it.

I'm against this alias. Every wip is unfinished, but not every unfinished work is wip. There should be either implication, or alias work_in_progress -> unfinished. Not the other way.

I don't see much need for work_in_progress tag. It's just a tag for unfinished works that might someday be finished (but likely not).

Like others in this thread, I think it'd work if the work_in_progress tag was aliased to the unfinished tag, rather than the other way around. Didn't know we could post WiP stuff, though, so that's good to know!

I generally try not to post WIP stuff here, because I figured no one would really want to see it. But I suppose if people were interested I would >.>

There was one piece I got some good critique on a while ago that I posted as a WIP on here only (during the FA outage) and it seemed to be well received. Maybe I should do that more often.

Of course (at least some) WIP are allowed. All big flash games like CoC are work in progress. Though older versions get deleted when new version is out.

I guess work_in_progress -> unfinished makes more sense. I still support an alias because what Genjar said.

Thanks, Genjar. A lot of threads like these I have in my notes so that I won't lose track of them permanently. But I somehow didn't have this one in there and needed the reminder. Sorry about that.
