Typically, it's best to submit alias ideas through the official engine (Click on tags up at the top, then on Aliases, then on Suggest), so that the admins can more easily find them. You can list in the reason what the related aliases are, as well.

TIL. But could we possibly use the keito tag instead of the current one, since it's considerably shorter and easier to type?

I usually like to ask the artist what they prefer (or use whatever their newest account is) but that's just me. Either way, note that even if a longer tag is chosen (for whatever reason) you could still use keito as the shorthand version since it would be aliased.
Semi-related but still notable tip: m and f are much faster to type and less likely to be misspelt than male and female.

Can you explain why matt_burt is the tag used instead of gunmouth? Does the artist not prefer gunmouth? It's fewer characters, easier to type, sounds cooler, and is less conducive to doxxing.

Sweet. Also, TIL you can use instead of full links. That's even sweeter. By the way, is it appropriate to note aliases on the wiki? And does this also work for pairings, for example, mm -> {{gay, mf -> straight, ff -> lesbian, mc -> male_on_cuntboy, mh -> male_on_herm, md/dm -> dickgirl_on_male aka male_on_dickgirl, etc.? Probably not, but I believe it should.
I ask because new people are typically unfamiliar with the specifics of e621's system, for example, gay means "m/m sexual pairing" and does not refer to sexual orientation (for which, among other things, the stated_homosexuality tag exists).

Aliases (and implications) are automatically noted in the wiki on both relevant pages (for an example, check the page for autofellatio, which shows notations in both directions). Editing the wiki to note the alias or implication would be redundant (and require effort to fix if the alias is changed or removed for some reason).

The first administrators of e621, in their infinite wisdom, decided that all of an artist's online names should be aliased to their real name, since they might change their online names over time, but they'll never change their real name....
Well I mean that was one of the first things I made us stop doing back when I became lead admin. If any aliases to artists' real names need to be removed, we just need to know about it.
So it probably just never got fixed.
I definitely agree with wanting to avoid using their real name if possible (unless they prefer it for whatever reason).

(by the way, you can use instead of {{ if you want to link to a wiki page instead) It depends. I personally wouldn't link them unless that tag was aliased to something else. For example, it's worth putting a link to [[pussy_ejaculation in the female_ejaculation wiki in case someone gets linked there (since it was used for several years there could easily be links from other wikis, forum posts, comments, etc.), however there isn't much of a reason to mention aliases in current tag wikis (particularly when doing so would just confuse people).
Some of the aliases (f/f->lesbian, m/m->gay, 1guy/2guys/3boys/boi/etc. -> male are a few of them I know offhand) are there simply because they get copy/pasted from other sites (danbooru) frequently enough to justify the alias. As Snowy said, you can always check the wiki page to quickly see aliases if needed (the male wiki has 13 aliases and 15 implications :O ).

Honestly, there are times when either can work better. If you're listing the tag a few times, you can do a wiki link and a gallery link, otherwise, it depends on if you're trying to show the gallery or the info on it.
Here's a tip: See that "Formatting help" link below the post box? Click that to open up a page that tells you how to use the rest of the DText.
