Topic: The "non-humanoid_creature" tags

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

Do you think these tags are useful in any way? *non-humanoid_creature* We have lots of non-humanoid_creatures on e621 and most of them have a tag already. Also, this tag and the combinations with it seem extremely clumsy. What would you do with it? Alias it to something, or keep it?

To be fair, the site is for "furry artwork", and in some regard that means that most art on this site to a degree is "non humanoid".
Though, the tag is non_humanoid_creature ie, everything that isn't an anthro. And that is still a very large portion of the content on the site, where most falls under the existing tag feral.

And out of the 53 images with the tag, a whole 29 is using it to say "there is tentacles in the image." And we already have the tag Tentacles for that...
Some images are also humanoid like these ones: https://e621.net/posts/2519278 https://e621.net/posts/2519264

And the majority of the images is just the flower from the Mario series. (A flower that likely has a tag already. But I haven't checked...)

So the tag non_humanoid_creature is a bit pointless in my opinion.

Neither can I think of any time that it would be useful, since one can usually describe a creature by either saying that it is anthro, feral, goo_creature, tentacles, or anything else that seems applicable. If there isn't already a tag for the specific creature/character that is. Worst case one just have to go with eldritch_horror or where_is_your_god_now.
