Aren't these just the same thing? Also, "the flood" is a rather generic name, given both the natural disaster and the flooding tag that seems to be flooded with macro/micro posts.

Well, this is a species tag, so I think it's just a case of some variation of the species just in Halo.

I see what you mean there. I'm just not sure if it's an alias or an implication because it's unclear if the_flood from Halo is the same as the_flood species in general.

I assume they are, judging by how both tags are used. If they aren’t same, then it should be neither implication nor alias, as we wouldn’t have a Halo species imply some other non-Halo species just because they share a name.
