Topic: [REJECTED] Alias diaper_furry, etc. -> infantilism BUR

create alias diaper_furry (0) -> infantilism (5462)
create alias diaper_fur (4) -> infantilism (5462)
create alias diaper_lover (0) -> infantilism (5462)

Reason: This would fit with other tags like babyfur, diaperfur, abdl which are all already aliased to infantilism.

Most of these don’t look like infantilism. Infantilism is when an adult character is acting like or being treated like an infant. Given that diapers are often used as a fetish separate from (though very often overlapping with) infantilism, aliasing to infantilism will cause mistagging. post #2851915 for example is just a furry wearing a diaper. Infantilism should include other things like infantile behavior, pacifiers, cribs, onesies, etc. I’d rather alias these to diaper since they all involve diapers, at least.

Should diaperfur, abdl, ab/dl and diaperfurs be unaliased from infantilism and aliased to diaper too?

Diaperfur(s) probably should, though the “AB” in “ABDL” stands for “adult baby,” which is probably appropriate for infantilism. Given that ABDL/infantilism, to the best of my knowledge, don’t necessarily require diapers, aliasing ABDL -> diaper might be incorrect.

Now that we’re on the topic, though, I’m wondering if there’s not a better way to organize these. Perhaps abdl can be used in a similar manner to bdsm in the sense that it encapsulates different but clearly related fetishes. In the case of BDSM, both bondage and masochism are included. In that sense, ABDL could include both infantilism and diaper fetish.

I had considered suggesting aliasing these tags to diaper fetish instead, as they all seem to indicate the fetishistic use of diapers, at least. There’s no wiki for it, but it looks like it’s following the format of the other *_fetish tags, like foot/nipple/tail/food. It seems to be used to indicate any content where a diaper is used in a fetishistic or suggestive manner. Then we’d likely need a new tag, diaper_play (again, following the format of foot/nipple/tail/food play), which would be limited to the use of diapers for sex/masturbation, and would imply diaper_fetish.

So, with that being said, I guess diaper_fetish might be the best thing to alias them to.

Agreed with your final statement, and your analogy to BDSM is correct, in my opinion.

Aliasing ABDL to diaper would be incorrect, it should, instead, be implied by diaper and diaper fetish. Just like BDSM is implied by bondage, rather than implying bondage itself.
I disagree with the original proposed aliases, because diaperfurs are not always into infantilism.

ABDL stands for Adult Baby/Diaper lover.

To the best of my knowledge, there are 3 major groups in this community. I'm gonna refeer to their furry names for conveniency.
Babyfurs, Diaperfurs, and Mixed.

Babyfurs are furries who enjoy infantilism themes. Age play. Mostly wholesome and sfw instead of sexual. Fantasy of being little/young again. Not always involve diapers, there is the kidfur subgroup that enjoys the fantasy of being young children(5~9y/old) rather than babies. I believe the best example to this would be... think about cartoons, many have at least one episode involving age regression, the "becoming young and the fun situations that come with it" gag, or the "Randomly tripped and got into baby clothing" gag. Babyfurs are pretty much that.

Diaperfurs are the furries who like fantasies focused solely on diapers as an object, no infantilism involved. Afaik many diaperfurs do not particularly like babyfur themes, because to them diapers are mostly sexual, and you know what people think about sexual themes and cub together. These folks simply find diapers comfortable or hot for no specific reason. This category is where you might find more frequent diaper usage and maybe some hyper themes, it's often sexual/fetishistic in my opinion. I believe a good example of diaperfur content is the diapersuit tag. Or... it's like the difference between bondage and bound, for normal folks, diapers are just something that exists, while for others, diapers give off the same interest as people have in bondage.
It's still a tricky category though, because some can enjoy other childish stuff like onesies for the aesthetics, but still not fall into the infantilism interest. Even if you are in the ABDL group it's easy to mistake a diaperfur for a babyfur and vice-versa.

Then the mixed folk, where I fall in. This group can enjoy both themes, and often don't mind mixing both. In example: A cub in a hyper-full diaper. This would normally not go well with the other groups.

As for how to organize these tags.. I'm not sure, i'm not super familiarized with the taggin culture in the site yet. Maybe:

If I'm not mistaken, for tagging purposes, Derpibooru(mlp booru) considers the following:
Diaper is implied by diaper_fetish.

A) Is it non-baby in a diaper?
B) Is it a baby/young child in a diaper?

1)Is the diaper thin, flat or 'normal' looking?
2)Is the diaper 'looking big'?
3) Is the picture thematic suggestive/sexual/hyper?

if A and 1, not a fetish
if A and 2, is a fetish
if A, 2 and 3, is a fetish

if B and 1, not a fetish.
if B and 2, might be a fetish.
if B, 2 and 3, is a fetish.

I think it's not quite an accurate guideline, but should work as basis, hopefully. Gotta get some examples for that sometime.
