Topic: [REJECTED] Tag alias: final_fantasy_tactics_advance_2 -> final_fantasy_tactics

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The tag alias #55184 final_fantasy_tactics_advance_2 -> final_fantasy_tactics has been rejected.

Reason: does the sequel need to be a separate tag if it's still all the same class/job and races as the base game?
It's all the same as far as I can see. Nothing I notice is unique to the Sequel that warrants it to have its own tag unless someone can tell otherwise.
If you have FFTA knowledge to spot a difference. Just merge them. Use Tactics in general as an Umbrella for anything FFTactics related.

EDIT: The tag alias final_fantasy_tactics_advance_2 -> final_fantasy_tactics (forum #320704) has been rejected by @NotMeNotYou.

The bulk update request #1588 is pending approval.

remove alias final_fantasy_tactics_advance (0) -> final_fantasy_tactics (426)
create implication final_fantasy_tactics_advance_2 (119) -> final_fantasy (18058)

Reason: Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, and Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2 are completely different games, completely different worlds, completely different stories.
No idea why Advance was aliased, that should be undone. Just as the main series tags are all separated, so too should these. At worst, we could have a final_fantasy_tactics_(series) tag that the three games imply to and then imply that to final_fantasy directly.

FFT_(Series) sounds better. Less of a headache, more efficient, less work.

I'd argue otherwise. As far as I can tell, they're all set in Ivalice, just in different eras. I will agree that a majority of the characters don't appear in multiple games, but some (like Montblanc) appear in multiple games, with some crossover with Final_Fantasy_XII.

That said, I don't have much opinion one way or another about these games being aliased together or not. I'm just not sure what good keeping them separate would do on a tagging basis. I will, however, argue that there should be a series tag, if they are kept as their own standalone tags. Ivalice has some distinctive races, like the nu mou, and a distinctive depiction of moogles. Having an easy way to search all of them without having to put in multiple Tactics tags would be appreciated.
