I may suggest changing it to have a character owner suffix, just to ensure it's not used on accident as a typo for scribble. Though if it's not a common misspelling, I don't have a strong opinion on it.

That's indeed the name of the character "Scrible". The only posts tagged with it were from that character, but I changed it to put the owner suffix on all of them: scrible_(scriblewible).

Yeah I think I'll let it out from this BUR, there were only 3 posts tagged as such to refer to the character, I don't think it's a common misspelling for "scribbles".

I'm not sure how I feel about this one. I try to avoid disambiguations unless there is no other option as they just create bloat and turn into projects that become messes.

I feel (quite strongly) the same way, although there seem to be at least a couple different characters called “scribbles,” and scribble is apparently an artist along with… well, I’m not sure what the others under that tag are being used for. A disambiguation might be best if this becomes a constant source of mistagging.

The only alternative I can see is to manually separate the posts into the artist (add an (artist) suffix to it, of course), the various characters into their own tags, and whatever else might be in there, then alias them both to sketch, since that seems like a logical alias, and a large number of these are sketches anyway.

• post #327554, scribble seems to be used for the scribbles/sketch at the chalkboard, but I don't know if there's a non-meta tag for that.

I'm pretty sure it's referring to the squiggly emanata above the guy's head in the center right panel. I'm sure we can find a better tag for that... it seems to be a cartoonish way of depicting confusion or frustration. We have a tag for that, don't we?

Mmh, no, I don’t think that’s right. Grawlixes appear in text as a form of censorship. That’s just a floating scribble above the guy’s head. I’ve seen it before in cartoons, though. There’s got to be a name for it. Do we have any cartoon experts in here?

Searching for "floating scribbles at character head" on Google, I found only a Reddit post that seemed to have some kind of relevance: https://www.reddit.com/r/whatstheword/comments/8f3hv9/wtw_for_the_cloud_of_scribbles_over_a_characters/

The top comment suggest this comic effect as a mixture of grawlixes + spurls. Dunno about the validity of that statement, but by searching "spurls comicana" I found some examples that were close to that, but less scribbly. So the conclusion of it being a mixture seems reasonable.

Eh… yeah, not sure there’s a name for that particular thing after all. The spurl isn’t quite right, either, though it’s close. If there is an actual name for it, it might be too niche to bother making a tag for it. Even spurl hasn’t been used yet. I think we should just call it emanata, and use that as the generic umbrella tag for all these little symbolic expressions.
