Topic: Numbers beside domains on artist tags?

What are these numbers on artist tags beside domains? Like:

• Twitter:10
• Twitter:1
• Furaffinity:10

Could someone explain that to me?

Uploads where that domain is provided as a source.

Seems to be some kind of percentage scale. Artists with well more than 10 uploads will only show numbers that total 10. It also doesn't seem to give particularly meaningful numbers. This artist for example has well over 100 posts, the majority of which have all three of FA, Twitter, and Pixiv listed as a source, but it shows

furaffinity.net: 8
pixiv.net: 1
twitter.com: 1

Extra ironic also is that most of the images are actually direct-uploaded from Pixiv, due to it being both less compressed (like Twitter does) and not resized (like FA does), but FA gets the credit for most of them.

I think it's only tracking the domains of the posts on the artist's page at that very moment. Furaffinity is the first-listed source for 8 of the posts.

I think you right, I tested with only one artist tho: dona908
I checked the 10 most recent posts and all of them comes from Twitter.
Even tho there are uploads with other sources of the same artist:

• dona908 source:*pixiv
• dona908 source:*furaffinity

So it seems that this number besides the domain is the source of the 10 most recent posts.

Ok, I checked this artist to see if I understood. But now I even more confused??? The 10 most recent posts of the artist you linked has a bunch of sources, but the numbers beside the domains doesn't reflect that??? Now I confused!

Maybe e621 use some kind of programming witchery to know exactly what were the primary source?

Hah! No.
It just counts the first source on each post, and discards the rest.

I'm not sure what the purpose of those numbers are in their current state. They are... not really helpful.

It feels like a leftover. Like at one point it properly tracked sources, but after an update/redesign it got morphed into what we have today.

It's a leftover from danbooru. However, danbooru only allows a single source, and the new site allows for many. So it only counts posts where there is a single source provided. I've just forgotten about it, but it should be a fairly easy fix.
