🙂🙂 Bold also works, though it's harder to notice if you don't do something to make them larger.. It's more noticable on things with eyes, where the eyes become bigger.

It's subtle compared to the italics, but the bold emojis have ever-so-slightly thicker eyes and mouths.

Did a little testing, 🔞 and a few related "Text inside" emoji will bolden the text too. However, bold doesn't work while in a header, while italics do.
