Topic: Question about "translation request" tag

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

I know that the translation_request tag serves the purpose of marking any posts that contain text in a language that isn't English and that needs translation. However, since I often don't change the tags of any post I see (because I don't need to), I do have one question:

Do I need to get any sort of "green light" from a higher member (like the staff of this website) to put it on a post I'd like to see translated or can I do it myself without any worries?

Thanks in advance!

Also if you know what language it is, also try and make sure there's a language tag (russian_text, japanese_text, etc) present on the post. That way it'll be found easier by somebody translating that language.

No, you don't need anyone's permission to add translation_request to a post.
As long as its usage is valid - that is, the post actually needs translating - you are good.

Got it, thanks for letting me know!

I'll definitely keep that in mind. Thanks ๐Ÿ‘
