Not sure what happened here, but invalid_tag is now an artist tag instead of an invalid tag. Seems NMNY made an alias for felicity_longis (a colorist/editor) to invalid_tag, which may have accidentally changed its type, or is it intended to be an artist tag now?

I think it would be better to alias to invalid_artist, so that users know it was an artist tag that got invalidated. the alias might have broken the category, invalid_tag should be of the invalid category.

I've corrected the tag type on invalid_tag back to being invalid category. I've made a note that alias may attempt to modify the target tag type and tag locks need to be respected in those situations.

It's odd to me that it took three years and ~160 submissions to reach that conclusion. Also weird that none of that info was ever relayed to me by NMNY when I asked about it. But alright then.

This does bring up a question I have been meaning to ask, since it seems it's policy not to tag editors yet there are a million old posts tagged that way. A few pictures I (relatively recently) uploaded of types of creatures (e.g. gijinka) and even specific characters (e.g. Teen Titans) which are commonplace here have been deleted on grounds of being "unrelated to site (human only)". Are old pictures with these tags considered to be grandfathered into e621 whereas new ones are deleted?

Images can be grandfathered in, yes. As long as it's not now a law violation, they won't get deleted.
