Topic: Discussion On Standardizing The 'abdomen'/'belly'/'stomach'/'torso' Tags

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

Derived from topic #28134 and topic #28133, this forum discussion is focused on standardizing the abdomen/belly/stomach/torso tags, and how these tags should be utilized.

  • Which tag formats should be used (*_abdomen/*_belly/*_stomach/*_torso), and what aliases/implications should be made for whichever tag formats are kept?
  • How should these tag formats be utilized? I ask this particularly since I had always thought the *_belly tags were used for the belly/stomach area, regardless of it's size. However, discussions from the aforementioned forum topics seem to indicate that *_belly is used for belly/stomach areas with some degree of chubbiness (as well as the wiki for belly).

I thought the same. I guess e621 has something new to teach us every day…

Regarding the conundrum: according to their respective wikis, stomach is for the organ and belly is for chubby/overweight abdomens. A "torso" is generally thought to include the chest, which would not be adequate for an alias, though it might be useful for implications, perhaps?

Therefore, I vote for the *_abdomen format.
