Topic: Blacklisted items still appear on posts

Posted under General

It shows that I have them blacklisted correctly on the left hand side but every image with them is STILL showing up full and normal.

Are the tags in the blacklisted section in the sidebar crossed out, by any chance?
If they are, that filter is disabled. Click on it again to re-enable it.

That seemed to be the issue. Thanks.

No problem. It's the single most common issue people seem to have with the blacklist.
On the other hand, I personally can't think of a way to make the fact that the blacklist filters are disabled any more clear.

I think part of this is a problem with inconsistent behavior. If you disable one or two filters they are re-enabled when you move to a new page. If you disable everything it stays disabled when you move to a new page. I've found myself confused as to why certain things are ending up in my search despite being blacklisted, only to realize that my blacklist was still disabled from several days ago.

I miss the behavior where the blacklist would always apply and wouldn't ever remember you disabling any part of it. It was consistent, it defaulted to not showing me things that I had told it not to show me (which is good behavior), and I never found it confusing or unintuitive.

Yeah, that's just the unfortunate way that thing works. It only uses a single variable to determine the blacklist state - either all filters enabled, or all disabled.
I'm not sure why it's done that way. It wouldn't be that much work to save the list of currently disabled filters.

Kind of disagree on not remembering the blacklist state altogether, though. If I'm browsing with the blacklist disabled, and open a previously hidden post, I would rather save myself a click and not have to disable the blacklist on that page again.
