Topic: 3rd-Part Edit Question

Posted under General

I was wondering about images that are created from rendering and copy and pasting into a different image style, are those kinds of images allowed, I know that it helps to put in the description of the artist of the original art works And don’t take credit for them, just wondering if it is done here?

I hope I did not make this complicated but I can try to explain further

Please clarify what you mean by "copy and pasting into a different image style"? Do you have an example?

According to the Uploading Guidelines, your edits must be of the same quality as the original content. Any low-effort or AI edits will be deleted.

What I mean is like the images of characters that cropped out the background, making them transparent and putting them into a different background, the purpose of this is adding a little story to it.

I don't think you can, as per the Uploading Guidelines:

  • low effort edits (adding stories, changing text, bucket fill coloring, cutting out parts, etc) are not allowed

Though if you've managed to maintain the post's quality, it may be allowed. But I would not know until I see the original post and an example.

Also, you will need to ask the artist of the original post for permission to edit their work. It may get taken down if they'd preferred not to have fan edits done to their work.

Okay, then nevermind, I am certain that it would be taken down anyway.
