As far as I can tell, extreme pain and suffering are redundancy explanations but
snuff porn is indeed torture rape and murder
where snuff in general is taking pleasure in torture and murder

Any of the listed elements being present (and the sexual pleasure derived from said elements) is enough to warrant the snuff tag.

Can't say I've heard of snuff being applied to situations where sexual pleasure is derived solely from extreme pain, suffering, or torture. That would be more akin to extreme BDSM (particularly the Sadism and Masochism parts). Deriving sexual pleasure from rape seems a far cry from what snuff is typically used to mean, too. I've only seen snuff used in contexts where death is involved.
