One thing I have always been asking myself is: What makes people enjoy Vore?

Upfront, I have nothing against this kink. But no matter how hard I tried, I just can't get into it, because I don't see what really makes it appealing. I love a myriad of kinks, some more extreme ones, some I would rather keep to myself. Vore has never been one of them. People asked me why I don't like it, considering my list of kinks I like. Some of those even coming somewhat close to it. And upon thinking about it... I don't really know either! At the same time, upon asking them, they couldn't really answer it either why they liked it.

A kink explained:
I mean when I explain for example why I like - as example - musk, I usually explain with that I just enjoy the scent. I have made experience with it and I know it's one thing that gets me going.

But when I think about Vore for example, I'm just clueless what I could like/dislike about it. None. No clue.

Maybe someone can help me out?

It can be extreme or mild, depending on the artist, but still extreme violence.
Therefore, I know that someone may not understand and blacklist it. .....I don't love it or hate it, though.

I'm going to refer to the Pixiv dictionary / other sources to give my take on this.

I might say something a little extreme, so please be careful.

Vore is described as
"a kink caused by the sexual fetishism of a scene in which Prey getting eaten, but Predator swallows the Pray whole without chewing it".
In other words, it's preying on something while the Prey is alive, one of gore, BUT NOT "act of mutilation, amputation, and large volumes of blood" .
There are others, I'm not that familiar with them , but I understand that Vore is based on animal Preying and hence preferred by some furries.

Now,
the positions in vore are said to fall into 3 categories : Predators , Prey , Spectator

• Predators ⇒ desire for control, enjoy giving the prey the fear( or relief ) of "I'm going to swallow you!". _{That's why they don't kill Prey.} They may enjoy watching the Pray squirm. In some cases, they do this because of their feelings for the Prey.
• Prey ⇒ desire to be controlled, want to be eaten by Predators. Sometimes there is a fear of being digested, sometimes there is a joy in being a part of the Predator. ---- This is what you mean by enjoying Musk.
• Spectator [ Us watching them ] ⇒ have a sexual fetish for watching it, and their "desire_for_control"/"desire_to_be _controlled".....the strong eating the weak. prefer to observe "predators with overwhelming strength" and "the terrible treatment of helpless prey".

Well, in short, I think Vore is a form of sadism ⇔ masochism.

But, What happens after that depends on the artist, Or it may not be drawn.

On the other hand, it's a fantasy, so it's possible to live and survive. If it was done with their consent or if they had a special ability. ......"You are so cute I could eat you up!", I guess.
That's probably one of the points to enjoy.

there are different places to swallow. ⇒ unbirthing , cock_vore : I think both sides are feeling the warmth.

I agree with some points though not with all. The point of vore is not necessarily domination or sadomasochistic nature. It's any kind of pleasure you feel related to taking living beings inside some other being. For few people it's becoming one. For others it's getting absorbed/absorbing. Getting as near as possible to the ones you love is another aspect for example.
Soft vore is not that the prey stays intact until stomach but that the prey doesn't even get hurt as far as I know rather than death.
While it originated from oral but it has now some other kinds which IMO somehow derails now totally like cloth vore. Anyways you could say that vore has mainly 4 parts: oral, anal, genital (unbirth/cockvore) and breasts.

Starting here is my personal points.
I'm mainly a fan of unbirth and a bit of anal and breast. Also I like to be the prey which means I like to imagine being one. And no hard stuff for me, no death, no gore, while a bit of force (or not 100% willing or aware) is good in a small scale.
Personally I have some feelings of becoming part or being as near as possible kinda thought. This especially applies to breastvore for me.
What also applies to me is like while having sex one takes a part of the others body inside. With unbirth and anal it's not just a part but more like thought.
Another part is sharing some intimacy. Vore is the most intimate someone could get.
Something difficult to describe would be similar to having an egg rotor/penis ring for example inside or somewhere which stimulates the user in secret as examples arouses some people, right? Having that being something alive can boost that feeling, too.
Anything else is difficult to put into words I think. Even the last point was somehow vague or something.

it's not that each way is of exactly the same nature...up to the artist to draw in many different ways...That's deep.

One part of me that has vore for a kink has to do with the sense of envy I feel towards the body of my partner. It's the sense of wanting to touch all over and feel the skin and the muscle tone. The sense of wanting to be *close* to that body, if not having and becoming that body. Like Gloomy Wing cited: "You are so cute I could gobble you up!" To get my partner really "under my skin", inside me. That'd be the thing. And like the people in this thread before me, I recognize that vore has a very wide spectrum, where some probably are even disgusted of the way I just described feeling.

I'm not in to vore, in that I'm not attracted to the idea of being swallowed, but I do find myself enjoying a lot of art aimed towards those who like vore. I'm more in to maws, tongues, saliva, and that sort of stuff 'cause I imagine that they'd feel nice.
