I find the new tag styling hard to read (very bright on an otherwise dark website) and hard to look through (no longer a simple one-way list)

Yeah now there's no way to add or remove tags from a mobile search. Very disruptive to the entire experience!

unable to use F as a favourite hotkey all other hotkeys work

Updated

The comments under images are no longer ordered chronologically, or even by score. They're just shuffled randomly.

I can't find any settings to re-order them.

Like the above post said yeah comments aren't ordered anymore.
That could be a chance to put a drop-down list for ordering chronologically, number of likes, newest, relevant (ugh), etc...

All the Tags on images are gone for me, as in I cannot See any Tags at all just the Image itself, what?!?

For that matter, there is no info at all anywhere on the Image Pages for me anymore, neither Tags not post dates, nor anything, what the hell.

this seems to be a weird issue with the cookies somewhere, maybe with one of the changes made to one of the themes settings. you coult try reseting your cookies for the website, that should fix it.

It's not a bug, nor a "cookie issue" or whatever.
If you have the fullscreen mode enabled on the posts index page, the post show page would be in fullscreen mode too.

from what I was shown it dosn't seem like there's a button to disable fullscreen on the post view page, so it really does kinda just look like the sidebar is missing for no apparent reason.

(the only evidence that wasn't the case was that the search bar still being there, which, being a mobile user, I didn't really think about.)

Updated

The "Add To Set" button is behaving really strange:
1. Go to a post
2. Click "Add to set" (works as expected)
3. Close the Add To Set menu
4. Press D to navigate to the next post
5. Click "Add to set"

The Add To Set menu does NOT pop-up this time. Instead, the page scrolls up to the top, and a # is randomly added to the end of the URL. I'm using Firefox.

It seems like there's been a change to how tags communicate with the API, since now any third-party app I use can't download tags anymore

Hydrus Client only grabs a post's content rating as a tag, re621 has a button that's supposed to give you all the tags in plain text that just doesn't give you anything besides the post ID and time of upload, even it's own direct download options stall out now (probably because it uses tags to name files)

I know this probably isn't a bug for e621 itself, and that third party software isn't a priority for dev time. But if I could get any info on what changed so I can better communicate with these devs on what's going on would be major, Thanks!

Happening to me to. I've only tested on LibreWolf so far.

Neither F nor Shift+F shortcuts work. I'm using Firefox.

comments below threshold are visible by default when viewing the comments tab rather than them being hidden initially and shown when pressing the "show all comments" button. said comments do have the .below-threshold class, but that just makes them slightly transparent like thresholded comments normall look when unhidden.

Issue with tags not being displayed on page. I used those to navigate related topics and now they aren't showing at all. I am on a tablet, and the issue has persisted for several days. Clicked the 'tabs and info' button and nothing happened. Checked every settings menu I could find and found no options to help. I am at a loss here any help is appreciated.

being in full screen causes this.

you can toggle it off in the post index, the button's on the top right, just under the search bar.

Instructions understood but not performable. Top right, beneath search bar is 'previous post'/'search synopsis'/'next post' next down is ad placement. Next down is said post image. " post index" button not found.

Edit. Not sure what happened, but 2 unknown symbols found beneath search bar on new search. one anchor and one box inset in four disconnected corners. Anchor effects still unknown. box and corners appears to solve the issue. Assistance in resolving this issue is appreciated. However, unknown reason for buttons not appearing consistently is concerning. Issue resolved, for now. Thank you!

no, the post index as in, like, the search page, https://e621.net/posts. the button only shows up there currently. it should be highlighted in orange/yellow, it's the one with an icon that looks like a box.

Discrepancy acknowledged. Was searching on individual posts and not search page. My mistake. Function understood and issue resolved. Much obliged for the assistance. Thank you!

When I look to the side of the post I don't see any tags and other details.

this is caused by being in full-screen mode, you can toggle this while on the post index page (post search), the toggle button is on the top right, just under the search bar (the button will appear on all post pages in the next site update).

What's the script of the BUR you were trying to make?

Still don't know how someone managed to remove the favorite hotkey in the updates.

Currently unable to scroll post children that don't fit on desktop, so some can't be seen, while on mobile it squishes to fit. post #1920870 for instance.

Post children that don't fit where?

Nevermind, RE621 issue that I guess one of these updates caused. Perhaps that component of RE621 should just be disabled, the default viewer is fine, though having it automatically expand is nice.

Features - Improved Thumbnails
Disable that and it should look fine again

That is ridiculous advice.
Completely disabling one of the main reasons people use re621 to bypass one small bug?

I'll fix the issue in the next patch. It just needs some minor CSS tweaks to display a scrollbar if the content is too large.
For now, you could go to General -> "Post Page" -> and set "Move Related Thumbnails" to off.
It'll put the related posts back under the image, like it is on the vanilla site.

Tags are completely absent when view posts.

I can only learn what they are by entering edit mode.

turn off fullscreen mode. you find the fullscreen button under the search bar in the search page.

Was fullscreen mode just enabled by default with this latest big update? Because this issue is way too commonly reported that it feels like an unintuitive (to put it politely) ui choice

it was only something that existed on the index until the most recent update, which then added it to the post view page as well.

It wasn't.
I am not sure how people are ending up with it enabled.
If you have any insight, let me know.

I mean, the obvious answer is that people did turn it on themselves when it only applied to the post index, where the sidebar is pretty secondary. then they were confused when, overnight (presumably due to this update), it suddenly started effecting the post show page, an entirely different page, in a strange, unexpected way.

EDIT: unless I'm stupid and it always effected the posts show page? I'm having trouble verifying this.

Is the concept of a setting being persistent between different pages really so "Strange, Unexpected"?
I don't see people wondering why the site theme remains the same on all pages.

No, my guess is that they are somehow enabling the fullscreen mode by accident.

cinder said:

because it didn't before? what do you mean? one day the page looked one way, and one day it looked different without the user having done anything in between to have caused the change.

and it's not like the two pages look particularly similar otherwise. ironically the only similarity is the sidebar, otherwise the pages are entirely unalike, even down to the the navigation buttons.

EDIT:

cinder said:

if people had turned the setting on by accident they'd've complained about the sidebar being missing on the search page as well, wouldn't they? but that's not what's happened, all of the complaints have been about the post show page exclusively.

Updated

Not sure if this is a bug or something new with an update, but things like tags or comments are too squished together. I'm sorry I can't be more specific, but it's seen on Chrome with the latest browser update, no other browsers.

the line height for text in quoteblocks seems off slightly. normal dtext has a line height of 20px, but text in a quoteblock has a line-height of only 18px. I've no idea why this would be, they both use line-height: inherit but I guess for some reason they're inheriting their values from different parents... somehow?
