What is up with the Foxgear character? Why is he literally everywhere? Anything and everything femboy related inevitably has Foxgear involved, and I think there's more art of this character than any of the characters he's paired with.

Maybe this is just a newfag thing on my part, like I'm missing 'site culture'. Because Foxgear kind of seems like an inside joke where artists are just compelled to put him in, rather than some greyed out anonymous character.

I know there's blacklist, don't tell me to blacklist because I'm not complaining that he's everywhere. Just genuinely wondering why he is in so much art.

Someone just has money to commission bunch of pics of their fursona. It's not that deep.

Well I could get that. But look at the amounts of pieces he's in. 170+?? NSFW pieces, usually good quality, with artist-owned characters? Who the hell can afford all of that? 10 nsfw pieces of a single character is a lot if you're not making the art yourself - 50 is eccentric and a shit ton of money already, nevermind 3x that. There must have come a point where artists started putting in the character unsolicited. I refuse to believe 1 person can both afford that much porn and that they would go to so many different artists for it.

They're also uploaded about a month apart. Character owner obviously just commissions a new piece each paycheck. It's not hard to afford a lot of art that way.

I sound like Mr. Crabs when I'm saying this. I really don't know why I feel this way. My heart feels like it's sinking in my chest and my face automatically contracts at the thought. I'm deeply dismayed about the concept of spending money on any kind of fun. This may sound like I'm trolling or playing it up due to just how corny and frugal I'm thinking. But it's all genuine. I can even understand why someone would do that, but I think the feudalist in me is having an aneurysm.

I do better with money than most people I know, I have living expenses I save most of my paycheck and have a fun money budget.
Unfortunately I have an expensive hobby and I want only the bestest weapons so it takes time to save up enough but I always make sure I spend less than I make. Plus I think it's good motivation to keep working if you treat yourself, otherwise I'm working just to exist and that's boring.

I once tried to bid in a YCH auction against a well-known character owner. He just wouldn't give up, that boi was wild. I forgot the amount he ended up spending, but man, those things are competitive, especially if it's from a "popufur" artist

It's not a waste if the artist spends the money, boosting the economy.
