Topic: Trying to create an Artist tag that's already a Character tag?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

So my partner started doing furry art and is uploading their stuff here and the name they're using is "Creamy"

I'm helping them out with getting their account set up and their art properly tagged but I'm having an issue with the artist tag.

There already exists a tag for "Creamy" that is showing up as a character.

I've already added "creamy" as an artist on the site.

Trying to tag a piece with artist:creamy doesn't work.

Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks for your help.

Create an artist tag called creamy_(artist) and use that.

You can't change tag type via tag list anymore. You need to do it through the tags index. https://e621.net/tag/index

But since there is already a character using that tag, you'll need to add _(artist).

Creamy should be disambiguated since it's a vague tag, and used for multiple purposes.

Thank you for reminding us why this feature was disabled for regular users: you would've been doing unintentional tag vandalism by using artist:creamy.

If they have any other nickname they are using, utilize that. Othervice you would need to use creamy_(artist) but as creamy is already highly used, this can also cause more issues down the line when someone else uses the same artist name.

I'm cleaning up the Creamy tag atm. There was only two different Creamy characters in that. One referred to being stuffed with cream. The rest were for either a cream pie situation or cum that looked thick like cream.
