I'm currently in a hunting mood when it comes to images as of now. I suppose this could apply to other users who are looking for the same thing.

I'm looking to expand my plethora of images for the background theme of my PC and/or phone. I've got a 1080p display, but I'm not too picky about the quality as long as I don't see the pixels on my screen. I would prefer SFW stuff because I don't live alone.

But find me weird and wacky things.

Have you tried wallpaper engine? You can also search the landscape tag, or others like the ratio tags to help. (On E6)

Nah, I'm looking for suggestions, not ways. I don't really have the time or effort to pick something myself.

Besides, I want outside opinions.

I have been using bunch of plives artwork lately, simply because they don't look too busy, but still have bunch of detail and are extremely high resolution (even looks good on phone with 2160px portrait height). They actually gave me zip of their stuff with far less compression compared to the posts on twitter and I have posted everything under their artist tag here.

If you are into games, check your steam trading cards. The cards artwork as well as profile backgrounds you can get from crafting cards are all 1080p. I think I have used at least Hotline Miami and Dust artwork from trading cards as backgrounds in past.

Outside of that, sadly many artists post on places like furaffinity, so everything will be under 1080p and as for e621, most users prefer to post explicit content only (and most artists do explicit content only), so many of the really good things are not posted here.

This is one of the cases where tools like waifu2x becomes extremely useful though. If you can only find good stuff which is low res and/or compressed, push it trough waifu2x. It's also far better from Windows background upscaling. That's what I did with post #858729, which didn't exsist at the time so I simply edited the explicit version for my needs as seen in comment #2461415.
(You can edit stuff for your personal needs without needing to post that shit everywhere online, what a consept for many people)

Also if finding material which has extremely simple colors and/or pixelated style can help making things look amazing. I actually took some assets from Oneshot, upscaled with integrer, extended the scene to fit the resolution.
