Topic: Uploaded Content

Is there a way to remove art I don't own, with specific tags such as "Young" as I'd no longer like to be associated with that kind of content.

Nothing against people into it but I'm moving onto a new chapter in my life and its not something I really want to associate with anymore personally.

You personally can't remove art you don't own, out of curiosity I had asked and got that answer. Ask the artist or commissioner, they can.

Though, what you could do is BVAS and ask someone else to upload, if they are willing that would effectively remove it. That's obviously not a guarantee, unfortunately.

Are you talking about art involving a character that you own? I'm pretty sure that character owners can submit takedown requests for art involving their characters.

Here's the policy, it does mention character owners.

Otherwise you're going to have to give more details for me to understand what you mean.

Ah yeah specifically characters and art I didn't commission or own. As in theyre completely unrelated to me. Some of the art under the young tag was uploaded either as (mainly humanoid touhou character art) or things I was asked to upload on behalf of other friends or artists who didn't have accounts and didn't want to make them.

Honestly I just wanna move on from that stuff now.

So is this about you wanting to have art you uploaded removed?

You'll have to get either the artists or character owners to file takedown requests.

I had a feeling it was that way! Well. Thats ok. It was a bit of a silly question anyway but thank you for being straightforward about it :)

Rather than taking down the art, would it be possible for an admin or someone to change the name of the uploader? If there isn't a problem with the art itself, and it's just that the uploader doesn't want to be associated with it anymore, a way to change that association would seem to be the best option for everyone.

That would be nice actually. I wonder if theres infrastructure for it.

Requesting artist to takedown artwork and thus disabling everyone else from uploading the content, simply because the files are attached to your account sounds extremely selfish to me.

We really should make it much more clear that content users upload are not in their control after they hit the upload button.

I don't think this is possibility even for admins and in case this turns out to be possible, I can only imagine the burden the amount of requests from users wanting to get rid of content from their account for whatever reason, were it something nobel like finding Jesus or something petty like not liking to have downvoted posts on their account.

Even with account deletions the instructions still are to scramble all the account information and login details and leave or create new account after that (alt accounts by themselves aren't againts the rules, only if they are used to break rules, you can technically also transfer your nickname into new account as scrambling old one will release the name to be used).
