Topic: How to convert a tag to an artist tag?

Posted under General

Hi, sorry for the newb question.

I wanted to add a piece of artwork by a new artist, so:

1. I created an artist page for "wolfsifi" here: https://e621.net/artist/show/42951

2. I added the "wolfsifi" tag to the new post here: https://e621.net/post/show/2164411/2019-3-anthro-bdsm-blush-bondage-bound-canid-canin

However, on the post, the artist tag just shows up as a normal tag, not as the artist tag like it should. (The post says Artist: None under tags). What did I do wrong?

Thanks.

Done. If it's a new tag, you can use artist: as a prefix to turn a tag into an artist tag. However, since it was already created, you would have needed to go to the tags page and manually change the tag type.

I've done it for you, so you're good.

For future reference, if you end up needing to alter the type of another tag:

Scroll all the way to the top of the page, where it lists such options as "My Account," "Chat," and "Wiki." Click the link that reads "Tags." At the top of the page this brings you to, there's a search option. Use this to find the tag you need to change, and you should be able to find the edit button from there.
