Topic: Flagging for deletion

Posted under e621 Tools and Applications

I went to flag a post for deletion because of being a duplicate. When I went in to do so, the post ID of the original was already in the box.

Does this mean this post has already been submitted for deletion? If so it would be helpful if the page pointed that out, or gave me a response saying it has already been looked at.

The reason I still put it in (and not the one next to it which also had the ID field pre-populated) was because it was very minor, very bad edit compared to the one next to it which was a minor but not bad and somewhat relevant edit.

The number in the field is simply the number of the parent image. This makes it so that replacing lower quality posts is easier by making it a child of the post you want to delete

Something that is flagged for deletion will have a big bright red box at the top of the screen.

or gave me a response saying it has already been looked at.

Can't do that part--after all, jsut because a post has been flagged for deletion once doesn't mean that it should never be flagged for deletion:

Let's say BobFox posts a picture that JaneRobin finds gross and she abuses the flagging system and flags it for deletion. Well, after Jane's been scolded, the picture's still there. A few weeks later, MarcOtter comes along and realizes Bob posted an inferior version, so Marc uploads a larger copy and flags it for deletion again. :)

An excellent reason to flag a post :D
