The tf_into_fictional_character tag seems unnecessarily specific and not very useful. Should it be deleted? It's the work of a single user (tfancred) as is usually the case with these kinds of tags.

Imho it should be aliased to the base transformation tag. Pretty much all transformation is inherently fictional, having it specify "transforming into a fictional creature" is way too vague and just not helpful imho

I can kinda see a point for this one. It's not just "transformed into an anthro fox" it's "turned into Robin Hood" or Simba or what have you, and that's kinda a different slice of the transformation pie.
I think the name is a bit cumbersome though...
the tf_into_ part's doesn't match up with the rest of our typical naming scheme.
As for fictional character... all characters are fictional :) so let's find something better... copywritten_character? established_character? Hmmm..
typically we use *_tranformation
character_transformation?
copyright_transformation?

I think that should be tagged as transformation anthro fox.

I think that should be tagged as transformation Robin_Hood. And if for some reason you want to find transformations into copyrighted characters you can use transformation copytags:>0 to get a very similar result.
I don't think we're getting much functionality out of adding tags that describe existing tag combinations, much less ones that are so ubiquitous. +1 alias to transformation or just manual cleanup.

Yes, that is correct.

Errr.. no.
See, that gets you all pictures that involve a transformation and a copyright. So this search would find Bobfurry transforming into Sonic the hedgehog after touching a golden cockring, but it would also find Mario growing taller with a mushroom, Bowser transforming into a girl, Sailor venus transforming into a cow... etc.
Which is all well and good if you're interested in looking at the cutie mark crusaders turning into pokemon... but if you're looking for, say, random joe putting on a cursed necklace and transforming into Maid Marian, or whatever, that's a lot harder to find, especially since transformation copytags:>0 has over 6200 points.
I'm not into transformation generally speaking, but I know I used to dream about randomly becoming my favorite character as a kid. Simba had a WAY more exciting life than I ever did. I can see why some people would hold this particular fetish and seek out this particular art concept.

Yep, that'd be worth keeping, and might be what the tag creator intended. The current wiki entry makes it sound like it'd cover far more than that, though.
character_transformation?
copyright_transformation?
Both better than the original name. The latter seems easier to understand, so I'd go with that (since I don't have better naming ideas).
Unless we go with another angle and instead add more specific subtags. Such as crossover_transformation, for when a character from one copyright transforms into different copyright.

We don't have a specific tag for crossover cosplay, which is like kinda a similar thing except not transformation. character_transformation and crossover would probably suffice.

Kinda does kinda doesn't, in my opinion... a fictional character turns into another (usually copyrighted and much more famous) fictional character.
Sounds like he was trying to dodge, like "a real person transforming into a fictional character" ... Still not a good wiki entry, but I think we're mostly covering what the original tag author intended.

crossover transforamtion could be neat, though I'm not sure the tag would ever be big enough to make it needed... hm...

I vote for copyright_transformation - that seems to indicate the meaning pretty well. I think character_transformation is more accurate, but less precise, so the meaning could get confused.
