Implicating exposed_brain → brain
Link to implication

Reason:

Exposed brain means that the brain is visible.

Not tagged much yet, but implicating it would help raise awareness of the tag. And this seems like the kind of thing that should be tagged more, because a lot of folks probably find it 'squicky'.

Also consider implicating it to gore.

EDIT: The tag implication exposed_brain -> brain (forum #239397) has been rejected by @NotMeNotYou.

Reason? Nevermind, I jumped the gun... Still +1, though.

Didn't finish typing it yet. Give me a minute. :/

+1 to the main suggestion. A brain is still a brain, doesn't matter if exposed or not.

-1 for the implication to 'gore'. A characters may have its brain naturraly expossed, hence there would be no gore involved.

e.g. post #1077601

Question: Would 'exposed brain' be applicable if the character itself is a brain?

e.g. post #98846

I like how you used a licker, whom would very easily qualify for the gore tag in their OG (original game) design, as an example for how an exposed brain is not gore...

I'm putting my + and - in the same baskets as O16, he is right on these regards.

Then it probably doesn't belong under this tag,
Compare to the other exposed_* tags, such as exposed_testicle. (Which also should have the gore implication, by the way.)

The whole tag group is for things that are normally hidden, but exposed for some reason.

Except that testicles aren't "exposed" in nearly as many situations as how a brain is exposed. Do we need separate tags for when it is in a jar, or when someone is doing a Frankenstein's Monster and has it laying around?

The way you described this, as "...that the brain is visible", leads me to say that there are ways for a brain to be visible outside of the body, and the brain to be visible while inside/on the body, in a non-gore way. We would need separate tags in cases you aren't outlining.

Including things like brains in jars would make this redundant with the brain tag, and would completely devalue the tags usefulness for blacklisting. So those definitely shouldn't be included.

That's not answering my question. You reaffirmed your point, but we'll need tags for when the brain is "coincidentally" outside of the body, yet not considered exposed. This'd alleviate the tagging of exposed_brain.

I'm not concerned about it, got too much work already without getting sidetracked.

Feel free to come up with something you think that other tags are needed. Bodyparts lying around are usually tagged as detached_*, though detached_brain sounds a bit nonsensical.

I wouldn't say we're sidetracking, it's a preventative measure; people will try to tag exposed brain if nothing else is offered.

Maybe some implication chains:

Brain <- external_brain for cases like lickers or other cases where the brain is on the outside of the body (I believe there are more than just lickers that have this, in Sci Fi);
Brain <- exposed_brain, for your listed reason;
Brain <- brain_in_a_jar for objects that are jars with at least one brain in them.
The rest are just brain, they can be laying in the dirt or you can see the peanut sized brain due to an x-ray, et cetera.

(Also, using this suggestion format to try and keep the sentence streamlined. Do you think it's effective, or confusing?)

Sounds efficient, but I suggest using 'removed_brain'empty or similar tag to for brains that are simply removed from body (being in a jar or anywhere else).

Maybe that work for internal organs in general:

  • 'severed' for external body-parts (arm, foot, head).
  • 'Removed' for internal body-parts (lung, bladder, brain).

Maybe that work for internal organs in general:

  • 'Detached' for external body-parts (arm, ear, head).
  • 'Removed' for internal body-parts (lung, bladder, brain).

Isn't "severed" used for external body parts?

Oops, it really is, sorry.

...fixed.
