-1. penetration =/= sex

True, but '[gender]_penetrating' tags are used to specify gender of the individual who is penetrating during sex. There is absolutely no reason for specifying gender of the character who is penetrating, if it is penetrating itself (masturbation).

+1. Reason above.

The real issue is when there's a strap-on: It's still [gender]_penetrating, but is it sex? The other discussion made me realize that it's probably toying_partner. This is unfortunate for the male_penetrating implication because it almost never involves a strap-on, but could by technicality...

But now someone suggested toying_partner -> sex in the other thread, so...

Yes, as is most other toy use on the partner (except when it counts as foreplay or immediate_sex). It's certainly not masturbation.

-1, what if they're screwing a watermelon or something? That's not really sex, its more masturbation. Exceptions invalidate the rule when it comes to implications and aliases.

See the wiki

General: male penetrating
Used for posts depicting a male character penetrating another character, regardless of the gender of the latter.

A watermelon isn't another character.
