A really silly and spontaneous question I know but It's one I've been meaning to ask someone for a very long time. Never got around to tasting some for myself and just really curious about what it might taste like ╹‿╹)

Like salted beef. That's pretty much what it is. Some brands add seasons and spices to it for flavor. Fact is beef jerky is tough, chewy, and a bit dry. I don't really know what else to say honestly.

I wouldn't quite equate it to gum. It's meat cut into strips, seasoned, and dried. You could think of it like slices of pepperoni, but drier.
There are also a multitude of different flavors. Not including alternatives like turkey jerky, teriyaki and peppered beef jerky appear to be fairly common.

I think this would have gone better in blips myself.

though comparing to pepperoni go me thinking, Could you use jerky as a topping or would the texture be too chewy for that? ╹‿╹)
